Bangor golfer Jesse Speirs had his best finish on the PGA China Tour over the weekend. A tie for 16th place at the Haikou Championship, the fourth tournament on the China Tour.

The event was shortened to three rounds because of weather. Speirs shot an even par score of 216.

The winner was Todd Baek at 10-under par.

Former Greater Bangor Open competitor, Trevor Sluman finished 4th in the China tourney.

Speirs and all of the players on the China Tour are trying to playing status for next year's Web.com Tour. There are 13 events this year in China with the next one is June 7th thru 10th.
