St. George Race Marks The Start Of Racing Season

Saturday's running of the St. George River Race means two things, spring really is here and so too is the canoe and kayak racing season.The 6-mile race is the first of the season and begins at the Searsmont Methodist Church on Route 131. Last years winner was Fred Ludwig of Houlton who finished in just over 47 minutes.

This race is part of the Maine Canoe and Kayak Racing Orginization series and open to anyone who wants to compete.
