Former Orono High School standout runner keeps making history at Wofford College in South Carolina.

In Friday's NCAA Southeast Regional, the sophomore Steelman set a school record running the 6k race in 19:56.5. That placed her in fourth place and earns her a spot in the NCAA National XC Championships November 17th in Wisconsin.

Steelman is the first Wofford student-athlete to earn a spot in the nationals.

Just last month she won the Southern Conference (SoCon) XC Championship.

Last year as a freshman, Steelman qualified for the NCAAs in the Steeplechase event.

Steelman was part of numerous Class C state champion cross country and track teams at Orono HS.
