The Red Sox got a strong pitching performance from starter Wade Miley and a shaky finishing performance from Koji Uehara but at the night of Friday night it was a 4-2 win over the Oakland A's.

Miley pitched 7.1 innings, giving up just two runs on six hits, walked one and struck out six. 69 of his 96 pitches were strikes.

Koji got the save but came inches from giving up a home run that would have tied the game. He ended up stranding two runners.

On offense, Dustin Pedroia remains red-hit, 3-for-4. Brock Holt had two hits. Rusney Castillo had two hits.
