After losing their lead in the bottom of the 7th inning, Boston used an inside-the-park home run form Blake Swihart to beat the Mets 6-4 in the 10th inning.Swihart drove a ball to center field that took a big bounce off the wall allowing him to round the bases and give Boston the lead in the 10th inning. Josh Rutledge and Xander Bogaerts would each add an rbi to give the Sox a three run lead.

After Junichi Tazawa gave back a run in the bottom of the 10th, Craig Breslow came in to get the final out of the game and snap the Mets 7-game winning streak.

David Ortiz hit a home run in the game for number 493 in his career. That ties him with Lou Gehrig and Fred McGriff for 29th on the all-time list.

Henry Owens had another good start for Boston by pitching the first 5 innings where he allowed 2 runs on 5 hits while striking out 5.
