The Red Sox have sent several of their top prospects to play in Portland for the Double-A Seadogs. Blake Swihart, Henry Owens, Mookie Betts, Deven Marrero just to name a few.

The Seadogs hold their welcome dinner in Portland tonight. Their season begins on the road Thursday and the Hadlock Field home opener is next Thursday, April 10th.

Left pitcher Henry Owens is listed by Baseball America as the #2 Sox prospect. Catcher Blake Swihart #5 and second baseman Mookie Betts #7.

Shortstop Deven Marrero is listed at #15. First baseman Travis Shaw and third baseman Sean Coyle are also top-30 prospects.

One of the Seadogs outfielders will be Bo Greenwell, son of former Sox leftfielder MIke Greenwell.

A former Seadogs player Billy McMillon takes over the manager's job in Portland. Former Sox catcher Rich Gedman is hitting coach.
