The MDI Boy's Basketball Team gave Old Town all it could handle for three quarters, before Old Town pulled away in the 4th Quarter to win the game 71-59.

The Old Town Coyotes took on the Ellsworth Eagles on Tuesday, December 16th, in an early season Big East clash, and Old Town ended up on top 64-48, in Ellsworth.

Old Town took a 17-14 lead at the end of the 1st Quarter, and it was still a 3 point lead at the half 34-31, but then the Coyotes came out in the 3rd Quarter, outscoring Ellsworth 20-8 in the quarter

The defending Class B State Champs got a scare in the 1st Quarter, as MDI led the entire 1st Quarter, until there were 11 seconds left, when Old Town took their first lead of the night16-15.Old Town outscored MDI 16-9 in the 2nd Quarter and never looked back en route to a 65-46 victory in the opening game for both teams
