Jacoby Ellsbury returned to Fenway Park and played a major role in helping the Yankees beat the Red Sox 9-3.Ellsbury received boos from the Fenway fans but wasted little time making an impact by leading off the game with a triple and scoring the first run of the game. He finished the night with two hits, two rbi's, and two runs scored in addition to some great defensive plays. Check out his highlights from the game in the above video.

The Sox also faced Masahiro Tanaka for the first time ans had little success. Tanaka went 7.1 innings striking out seven and not walking a batter to improve his record to 3-0. The only bright spot Boston had against him was back-to-back homeruns by David Ortiz and Mike Napoli in the fourth inning.

Jon Lester had a rough outing allowing eight runs on 11 hits and four walks.

After the game Manager John Farrell talked about the teams bad pitching and defense.
