A 16-year-old boy has been charged with murder in connection with a death last month. The State Medical Examiner's office says the victim died of a stab wound to the chest.

According to Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland, the teen is accused of killing Steven Hodgdon, age 49 of Troy. State Police have been investigating Hodgdon's death since he was found unresponsive in his home on March 8th. The medical examiner determined the man died of a stab wound to the chest and ruled it a homicide.

The teen was taken into custody in Lewiston and taken to the Waldo County Jail. He's expected to make his first court appearance Thursday or Friday in a Belfast court room. Because of his age, the boy's name will not be released until he appears in court.

The investigation is continuing. There's no word yet on the events that resulted in the man's death.
