It was back in November of 2006. A kid named Steph Curry from Davidson College dropped 29 points on Dick Whitmore's Colby Mules.

Today, of course, Curry is the reigning NBA most valuable player and his Golden State Warriors take on the Cleveland Cavs for the championship beginning Thursday night.

On that night back in 2006, Curry was a freshman at Davidson and his backcourt mate was Bryant Barr (Falmouth HS) who scored 10 against Colby.

Davidson beat the Mules 99-69.

NOTE: Longtime Colby coach Dick Whitmore joins the Morning Pitch Show/Sports Radio 92.9 The Ticket this morning at 7:30am to talk about his matchup with Steph Curry.
