Don;t be surprised if Boston Bruins winger Shawn Thornton gets at least a five game suspension for his Saturday night take down of Pittsburgh defenseman Brooks Orpik. Thornton will have an in-person hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety and that's worse than getting called into the principal's office.

Whenever the league is looking at a big suspension they call in the player first. Thornton has already said he was in the wrong.

Thornton cannot play again until that hearing and then the league's ruling on the play.

To make matters worse for the Bruins, Chris Kelley goes on the injured list with a broken ankle and Loui Eriksson suffered another concussion in that Pittsburgh game. It's Eriksson's second concussion this season already.
