Connecticut pro Jason Thresher fired a final round 7-under par 62 to win the Greater Bangor Open Tournament. Playing the GBO for the first time, Thrasher's 15-under par, 192 total score tied for the second best mark in the 51 year history of the tourney.

Thresher started the day tied with CJ Swift but birdied five of the first nine holes to take a stranglehold on the lead.

He had two more birdies on the back nine and played a bogey free round at Bangor Municipal Golf Course.

Swift shot an outstanding 66 on the final round and finished four shots back.

Thresher collects $9,000 for the win. Swift gets $5,000 for finishing in second place.

The 29-year-old Thresher won the Massachusetts Open last month. He will play in the Maine Open in Augusta on Monday-Tuesday.
