TNF: Cowboys Hold Off Vikings 17-15
Dak Prescott threw for 139 yards and one touchdown and the Cowboys stopped the Vikings on a potential game-tying two-point conversion attempt with 25 seconds left, as Dallas beat Minnesota, 17-15 on Thursday night. The victory was the 11th straight for the Cowboys (11-1).
With Dallas trailing 9-7 in the fourth quarter, Prescott and Dez Bryant hooked up for an 8-yard TD pass with 10:22 left that gave Dallas the lead for good. Dan Bailey tacked on a 39-yard field goal with 4:20 to play that made it 17-9 in favor of the Cowboys .
Minnesota (6-6) rallied for an eight-play, 65-yard drive that culminated with Sam Bradford’s three-yard scoring pass to Jerick McKinnon. However, Bradford was unable to connect with a receiver on the two-point attempt, leaving the Vikings to suffer their sixth loss in seven games.
Bryant caught four passes for 84 yards for Dallas. His 56-yard catch in the first half set up Ezekiel Elliott's 1-yard touchdown. The NFL rushing leader had 86 yards on 20 carries.
Bradford completed 32 of 45 passes for 247 yards for Minnesota.
Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer missed the game because of emergency eye surgery. Special teams coordinator Mike Priefer coached in his place.
