New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady will have that title until he retires, most likely. So, is that good for the Patriots?

Tom Brady just inked a new deal with the Pats that will keep him in New England until 2017, when he will be 40. While most Pats fans wouldn't want it any other way, a deal like this could cut both ways.

Brady continues to be at the top of his game, at least for now, but the Patriots are betting that he'll be able to maintain such a high level of performance very late into his career. Most quarterbacks at age 40 are no longer quarterbacks. Of course, there are a few who've managed to excel at that age, but there's no telling if Brady will.
