One of the best prospects in the Red Sox organization is heading to play for the Portland Sea Dogs.

In Salem this season Chavis has hit .318 with 17 HRs and 55 RBIs in 58 games.  He has committed 11 errors in 27 games at third base, playing in the 2017 season as a 21 year-old.  Chavis was the first round pick of the Red Sox in 2014, selected 26th overall.

In addition to Chavis, middle infielder Chad De La Guerra will also be heading to the Dogs after he hit .294 with five HRs in 58 games with Salem.

No word yet if Rafael Devers will be sent to Triple A as a corresponding move.
