It took one quarter of basketball for the defending state champion George Stevens Academy Eagles to get rolling, but once they did, they didn't look back in their semifinal match-up against the Fort Kent Warriors.

No. 5 Fort Kent led by one point after the first quarter. But early in the second, top-seed George Stevens (19-1) regained the lead and kept it until the buzzer sounded with the Eagles on top 76-53.

The win gives the No. 1 Eagles a chance to play for the Class C north title on Saturday, when they will take on the No. 2 Fort Fairfield Tigers at 8:45 p.m. in Bangor.

Senior Taylor Schildroth led the Eagles with 30 points. Stefan Simmons had 13 points. Max Mattson finished with 12.

Camden Jandreau had 14 points for the Warriors. Jacob Daigle had 12 points.

Fort Kent finishes the season at 15-5.
