The 15-day suspension is over for John Tortorella and he returns to coach the Vancouver Canucks tonight against Detroit. Remember Tortorella was suspended and fined by the NHL for his part in a melee with Calgary. Fights broke out after the opening game puck was dropped and Tortorella tried to get into the Flames dressing room in between periods.

The Canucks have a 2-4 record during his suspension.

The former UMaine Black Bear player from the 1970's has coached Tampa Bay to a Stanley Cup, he coached the NY Rangers and now is in his first year with Vancouver.

Tonight, Tortorella faces former Black Bear players Gustav Nyquist and Jimmy Howard when he plays the Wings tonight.

Tomorrow night, Tortorella brings the Canucks to Boston Garden to face the Bruins. You can hear that game on Sports Radio 92.9 The Ticket.
