An Orono man died on Wednesday after being hit by a falling limb while removing a tree.

According to the BDN, 22-year-old Eliot Lamb was killed instantly when a large limb fell from the tree. Lamb worked for Second Nature Tree Service of Whitefield. He and the company's owner, 42-year-old Scott MacKenney, were removing a tree from a property in Jefferson.

The Department of Labor and the State Medical Examiner's Office are investigating the incident.
