Patriots defensive end Trey Flowers and tackle Trent Brown have each been fined $20,054 by the NFL for illegal hits in last Sunday's divisional-round victory against the Chargers.

Flowers was fined after a low hit on Philip Rivers in the third quarter, which resulted in a roughing the passer penalty.

Brown's fine was in connection to his unnecessary roughness penalty after a block during the game.

The NFL also handed out fines this week to J.J. Wilcox and Denico Autry, both of Indianapolis, as well as Tim Jernigan of Philadelphia and Marcus Peters of the Los Angeles Rams.
