Drew Shea scored a team-high 14 points to help lead the MDI Trojans past the Orono Red Riots Friday night, 66-44.

Erik Merchant added 13 points, Derek Collin chipped in 11 for the Trojans.

Connor Robertson scored a game-high 17 points for the Red Riots. Sam Martin scored 9 points, while Jason Desisto had 8.

Orono struggled on the defensive glass, leading to second-chance points for MDI. The Trojans benefited from defensive miscues by the Red Riots as well, knocking down open threes and scoring easy buckets under the basket.

MDI, who entered the night sitting in third place in the B North standings, improved to 11-5. They'll host Foxcroft Academy on Tuesday.

The Red Riots, who came into the game in sixth place in B North, dropped to 9-7. Next up for Orono: a visit to Hermon High School on Tuesday.
