Tuukka Rask stood on his head all night and birthday boy Charlie McAvoy scored the game winner in the shootout as the Boston Bruins beat the Winnipeg Jets 2-1 at Boston Garden.

Rask made 37 saves through regulation and overtime. Former UMass Lowell goalie Connor Hellebuyck made 32 for the Jets.

But McAvoy, who turned 20-years-old yesterday, buried the game winner in the sudden death shootout and gave the B's two points in the standings.

The Bruins are now 18-10-5 and that gives them a five point lead for the third place playoff spot in their division. And, the Bruins still have two games in hand.

They play Detroit next on Saturday afternoon.
