Hockey East newcomer UConn came into Alfond Arena and pulled out a 2-1 win over the UMaine Black Bears in overtime.The loss put an end to the Bears win streak which stood at three games. The game winning goal came off the stick of Spencer Naas with just 20 seconds remaining in the overtime period.

The Bears forced overtime when Devin Shore scored his ninth goal of the season with just 6:05 remaining in regulation off a pass from Nolan Vesey. Maine outshot the Huskies 42-35 but also went 0-3 on the powerplay.

UMaine's record now stands at 10-16-1 overall and 5-8 in Hockey East. The two teams now make their way to Connecticut to wrap up their home and home series with a 2pm drop of the puck Sunday afternoon.
