UM Football Ranked #4 In National Poll
The UMaine football team has climbed to #4 in the nation after wrapping up the CAA title with Saturday's win over Rhode Island. The latest Sports Network FCS Poll moves the Bears up from #6 a week ago. Only North Dakota St, Eastern Illinois and Eastern Washington are ranked higher than Maine.
As the Bears climb in the polls, UMaine athletic officials work on bid proposals to host playoff games down the road.
There is one game left on the schedule - at New Hampshire on Saturday. If the 102-year-old Bryce-Cowell Musket is not enough to play for, UNH likely needs to win to make the playoffs. The Wildcats sit at #21 with a 6-4 record. Maine is trying to complete a perfect conference season in the CAA.
