UM Hockey Schedule Features Five NCAA Tourney Teams
UMaine hockey released its 36-game schedule for the 2015-16 season and it includes two home games against defending national champion Providence, a two game trip to South Bend, Indiana to play Notre Dame and appearances in two tournaments.
Regular season play begins October 9th and 10th in Portland for the Ice Breaker Tournament at the Cross Insurance Arena.
The Black Bears will also play three more road games before the Alfond Arena opener in Orono.
The two home games against the Friars from Providence will be February 5th and 6th.
The Bears will also play the UNH Wildcats four times in December - a home and home series in league play then a two games series with one game in Portland and one game in Manchester, NH.
Maine finishes regular season play in late February at Northeastern.
The schedule has the Bears playing five teams that were in last year's NCAA 16-team playoff field.
