The UMaine women's basketball team got double-doubles from both Liz Wood and Sigi Koizar to run past Binghamton 70-48. It puts the Black Bears at 4-1 in America East Conference play and 12-6 overall.

Koizar scored 17 points and 11 rebounds. Wood had 16 and 11.

The Bears as a team shot over 48% from the field. They out rebounded the Bearcats 38-31, outscored them in the paint 32-18 and the bench outscored Binghamton 22-0.

 

The UMaine men's basketball team dropped a non-conference game to the New Jersey Institute of Technology. The Black Bears drop to 1-16.

Damon Lynn had 27 points to lead NJIT.

For Maine, Zarko Valjarevic, Kevin Little and Garet Beal scored in double digits.
