Another Black Bear was added to a national football award watch list on Wednesday afternoon.

Jerry Rice Award Watch List nominees on Wednesday and a Black Bear defensive player was among the ranks, along with 16 others.  Maine linebacker
Jaron Grayer was listed on the watch list for his efforts so far this season.  On the year Grayer leads the team with 47 tackles and two forced fumbles and is fifth with two sacks.

The Jerry Rice Award is for the best freshman at the FCS level and only Davis Cheek joins the Maine linebacker on the list of nominees from the CAA conference.  The honor has been around since 2011 and was won by AJ Hines of Duquesne last season.  Terrance West and John Robertson of Towson and Villanova respectively have also won the award.
