The UMaine men's basketball team won its first division-one game of the season, beating Middle Tennessee State U 89-85 in overtime. The Bears are now 2-9 and will play in the championship game of the Dr. Pepper Classic Tournament Monday night.

The UMaine women's basketball team dropped a one point game at Sacred Heart 76-75. It drops the Black Bears to 6-6 while the Pioneers win for just the third time this year.

Maine turned the ball over 21 times and Sacred Heart scored 29 points off those turnovers.

Lauren Bodine scored 24 points, including 6 for 9 shooting three pointers.

Sacred Heart had four players in double digit scoring.

Maine stays on the road and plays at Wisconsin-Green Bay New Years Day.
