The University of Maine Black Bears were selected to finish in 9th place in the Colonial Athletic Association Coaches Poll announced today at Media Day.


The Black Bears did receive one first place vote in the poll after finishing the with a 3-8 record overall and a 3-5 conference mark.

Defensive lineman Pat Ricard was honored by the league as a 1st team all-defensive player in the conference.  The senior had a forced fumble, 6.5 sacks, and 52 tackles during the 2015 season.

UMaine will open up the 2016 season on Thursday, September 1st against the UConn Huskies.  The Black Bears will open up their conference slate on September 24th against James Madison at Alfond Stadium.
