The University of Maine softball team fell to Oklahoma State in an elimination game by a score of 10-1 to end the team’s run in the NCAA Regional.  Maine ended with a 28-21 record

The Black Bears battled with the Cowgirls in the early parts of the contest before surrendering four runs in the third inning, including a three run blast.  Maine was however able to score in the fifth inning on a RBI single by senior Janelle Bouchard who made history with Maine’s first ever run in NCAA Regional history.

Molly Flowers pitched just 2.1 innings in the effort and gave up four earned runs before being replaced my Annie Kennedy.  Kennedy would bridge the gap until Erin Bogdanovich would come in relief, surrendering three runs in her one inning of work.

Maine’s season is now over as the Black Bears will head into the off-season.  The team will return every player from line-up back into the fold except for Bouchard who graduated.
