The University of Maine softball team now knows where they will be playing in the 2016 NCAA tournament later this week.

The Black Bears were selected to travel to Georgia to face-off against the #16 ranked Bulldogs.  Georgia was 40-17 out of the SEC conference in 2016.  Northwestern and Oklahoma State also round out that side of the bracket.  Maine recently wrapped up an undefeated run during the America East tournament and had the most lopsided championship win in conference history.

This is just the first NCAA appearance for Maine since 2004 as they look to move on to the second round of the competition with a successful run.  The tournament gets underway for the Black Bears on Friday at 3:30 p.m. from Athens
