UM Women Win, Men Lose Sunday Games
Tanesha Sutton scored a basket with five second left in the game to give the UMaine Black Bears a 47-46 over Ivy League Penn Sunday afternoon in the Navy Classic Tournament in Maryland.
Sutton led the Bears with 16 points. Parise Rossignol added 12.
The Black Bears go 2-0 in the Navy Tournament and 4-2 overall.
Quinnipiac 58 UMaine Men 50: In Hamden, Connecticut, the Maine men's team had a seven point lead over the Bobcats at halftime but could not hold them off in the second half.
The Bears got outscored 39-24 to end up losing by eight points.
Isaiah White had 19 points to lead Maine.
The Bobcats had four players in double digit scoring.
After starting out 0-6 with all road games, the men's team finally plays at home Wednesday night vs Princeton.
