UMaine Faces Vermont In First Round Series

The University of Maine hockey team begins play in the first round of the Hockey East playoffs tonight at Gutterson Field House where they play Vermont.The top four teams in the conference get a bye in the first round with the rest of the eight teams playing a best of three series.

Maine goes into the game 0-4 against the Catamounts this season, but all four games were played early in the season. This is the first postseason meeting between the two programs.

Devin Shore leads the Bears with 13 goals and 21 assists on the season while Cam Brown is second on the team with 7 goals and 19 assists.
