UMaine Falls To #3 North Carolina 3-1 [VIDEO]

The UMaine field hockey team got a rare opportunity to host a nationally ranked team - not named UAlbany. #3 North Carolina came to Orono Sunday morning and handed the Black Bears a 3-1 loss.

The #20 Maine team falls to 6-2. The #3 Tar Heels improve to 6-2.

Lauren Moyer scored two of the three goals for North Carolina.

Madison Cummings scored the UMaine goal.

UNC out shot the Bears 10-6 and led in penalty corners 8-3.

The game marked a homecoming of sorts for former Messalonskee HS standout player Kristy Bernatchez who is now a senior at North Carolina.
