No UMaine players were also picked as all-conference pre-season players in the poll, as three out of the seven spots were occupied by Northeastern Huskies.    Maine posted a record of 5-15-2 in league play last season and had a mark of 11-21-4 overall.  They finished in 11th place overall out of 12 teams in the Hockey East standings.

The Black Bears will start the season on Sunday versus Acadia in an exhibition match-up and will play their first regular season game on October 6th versus UConn.
