Sami Schultz at bat for Husson

Husson softball swept a double-header from Maine Maritime Academy by scores of 6-5 and 8-0. With O'Keefe Field still unplayable due to wet conditions, the games were played on Boucher Soccer field which was fitted with a temporary outfield fence and backstop.

In game one the Eagles were trailing 5-4 going into the bottom of the 7th inning before Sami Shultz hit a walk-off 2-run double to win it.

Shultz added two more rbi's in the second game to help Husson get a mercy rule shortened 8-0 win on five innings. Freshman catcher Casey Lopes also drove in two runs, while pitcher Kayla Merrill went the distance allowing just 2 hits and striking out 8.

The 8-4 Eagles host Castleton State on Sunday.
