While it certainly does not look or feel like basketball season, the UMaine women's basketball team is about to get back on the court for game action.Richard Baron's Bears have been on the practice floor preparing for an international trip that will take them to Italy to play games. Maine will depart for Montreal Canada on Friday where they will play their first game and then depart to Venice.

Three games will be played in Italy with match-ups taking place in Venice, Florence and Rome. While there, the team will also take tours to learn the local culture.

The NCAA allows teams to take a foreign trip once every four years. The UMaine roster has taken taken on an international look since Baron took over the program with 8 countries represented on next years team.
