Size and depth was on the side of the UMaine men's basketball team as they won their final preseason tune-up beating Husson University 98-58 at the Cross Center.Black Bear Sophomore Garet Beal poured in a game high 26 points as the Bears were able to build a 13 point lead late in the first half. Ultimately the Eagles could not contend with UMaine's size as they were out rebounded  58-38. Husson also turned the ball over 22 times. Erik Nissen came off the bench to record a double-double with 12 points and 13 boards. Freshman point guard Aaron Calixte scored 11 points to go along with 6 assists.

Husson was led by Trevon Butler as the defending North Atlantic Conference Player of the Year finished with 16 points 4 assists and 3 steals.. Mitch Worcester and Eli Itkin each came off the bench to score 11 points.

Maine will open their regular season a week from Saturday at Butler while Husson will take on St. Joe's of Standish on Thursday the 20th.
