The University of Maine baseball team is headed back to the America East tournament after taking the finale of their weekend series with Albany by a 7-0 score.Scott Heath and Shaun Coughlin combined on the 4-hit shutout with just one walk. That win clinched a playoff spot for the Bears with one weekend to play in the regular season which concludes at Mahaney Diamond against UMBC on Friday and Saturday.

Colin Gay led the Black Bears at the plate Sunday with three hits and two runs batted in. Brian Doran added two hits and an rbi.

Binghamton joined the Bears in clinching a playoff spot joining Stony Brook and Hartford who had already earned their way in. The final weekend of play will determine the seeds for the tournament which will be played in Lowell. Maine is now 21-26 overall, 8-10 in conference play.
