UMaine Tips Off At Rhody

A young University of Maine Basketball team will tip-off the season tonight at Rhode Island.Ted Woodward enters the season with a roster of 14 players, 11 of which are freshmen or sophomores including Garet Beal from Jonesport-Beals High School and Mitch Worcester form Washburn High School.

Xavier Pollard has the highest scoring average among the returning players with 10 points per game last season, Zarko Valjarevic averaged 8 per game.

This will be the 99th meeting between the two teams with the Rams holding an 85-13 record in those games. The Black Bears however have won the last two games winning by 3 points back in 2004 and 2 points in 2012.
