With the win the Bears improve to 5-1, something they have done only three times in the 13 seasons. In 2001 they started 5-1 on their way to a conference championship and made it to the second round on the NCAA tournament. In 2002 they won eight of their first nine games, won the conference championship and made it to the second round of the NCAA tourney. More recently they started the 2011 season with a 7-1 record and made it to the NCAA final eight.

The Bears now have a bye week before hosting William & Mary for homecoming.
