On the final day of the NFL preseason, several former University of Maine football players were putting their best foot forward in an attempt to earn a roster spot.Wide Receiver Damarr Aultman and the Miami Dolphins lost to Tampa Bay but Aultman did his best by catching 5 passes for 57 yards. Aultman is on the bubble with final cuts on the horizon.

In Cleveland, corner back Kendall James got the start for the Browns and made 3 tackles.

Tight end Justin Perillo had one ball thrown his way in the Green Bay Packers win over the Saints but dd not come down with the catch.

Matt Mulligan played in the preseason finale for Buffalo but did not have a reception.

Mike Devito is the one player who is likely to make a roster as he plays for Kansas City. One indication is that he along with the majority of their starters did not play on Thursday night.

Teams must cut their roster to the 53 man limit by Saturday.
