University of Maine men's basketball freshman Andrew Fleming took home this week's America East Rookie of the Week for his performance against Binghamton on Saturday and also earned an All-Rookie selection at the AE Awards announcement on Monday.

Fleming had 17 points, nine rebounds, six assists, three steals, and two blocks in the regular season finale win for the Black Bears over the Binghamton Bearcats.  In addition to those numbers, Fleming also shot 8-11 from the field in the victory.  For the season Fleming logged 10.5 points and 6.6 rebounds per game, the best mark for both among currently active players on the UMaine roster.

This honor was the fourth time that the forward from South Paris, Maine took home the conference Rookie of the Week (12/5, 12/26, and 1/2).  Tanner Leissner for New Hampshire took home the Player of the Week honor in the conference.

Point guard Ryan Bernstein also picked up an end of the season honor as he was named to the All-Academic Team in the conference.

Maine will face the Vermont Catamounts in the quarterfinals on Wednesday.  The Bears will face Vermont in Burlington with the tip-off set for 7:00 p.m.
