UM’s Johnson Named Pitcher Of The Week
The University of Maine baseball team received another honor on Monday morning as pitcher Connor Johnson was named the Pitcher of the Week in the America East conference.
Johnson received the honor by going three perfect innings in relief for the Black Bears to pick up the victory versus UMass Lowell over the weekend. He also tallied three strikeouts in the effort for UMaine. On the season, Johnson is 3-3 with a 5.35 ERA in 14 appearances and becomes the fourth pitcher of the week for the Black Bears in 2017 (Nick Silva (2) and Justin Courtney).

Maine has just four games left on season, playing Boston College on Tuesday with conference play concluding this weekend with a home series against UAlbany. The Black Bears are 20-24 on the season with a 7-10 conference mark. Maine has also won five of the past six games and are currently 1.5 games above the Great Danes for sixth place in the league.
