Hockey East heartbreak for the UMaine hockey team at the Whittemore Center in New Hampshire Friday night. A two goal comeback to get the game tied only to lose in overtime.

The Wildcats beat the Bears 3-2.

Trailing 2-0 in the third period, Emil Westerlund scored to bring the Bears within one goal. Then, with a little more than two minutes to play, Chase Pearson scored to tie the game 2-2, quieting a crowd of over 6,100.

But just over a minute into overtime, UNH won a faceoff, Ara Nazarian ripped a shot past Maine goalie Jeremy Swayman for the 3-2 win.

Swayman made 31 saves on the night. UNH goalie Mike Robinson had 37.

Maine drops to 5-7-3 in Hockey East (9-13-3 overall). New Hampshire is 6-5-5 in HE  and 10-8-8.
