The Brice-Cowell musket will spend another year in Durham, New Hampshire. The UNH Wildcats beat the UMaine Black Bears on opening night 24-23 to make it eight straight wins over the Bears.

In the end, a missed fourth quarter PAT than would have tied the game at 24 was the difference on the scoreboard.

Black Bear QB Chris Ferguson was 23-for-44, 239 yards, three TDs and two interceptions in his college debut.

Josh Mack led the Bears on the ground, 103 yards on 27 carries. He also caught five passes.

UNH QB Trevor Knight was 19-for-30, 198 yards passing. He was also the leading rusher with 79 yards.

Maine plays its home opener next Saturday vs Bryant University of Rhode Island.
