Rejoice, Rejoice! Football is finally back! There’re some great games on tap for opening weekend, here’s how I think some of the top games of the week will play out.It seems like years ago that the Seahawks dismantled the Broncos, bringing an abrupt end to NFL season. Now those same Seahawks will welcome in the 2014-2015 season this evening as they play host to the Green Bay Packers.

The biggest difference maker in this game could be on the Packers offensive line. Due to an injury Green Bay have Corey Linsley at center, a guy has never snapped the ball to Aaron Rodgers in a game before.

That’s bad news for the Packers seeing how they’re playing in the most volatile atmosphere in the NFL. However if they can manage to snap the ball I think they’ve got a chance to put up a fight in this with top receivers Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb healthy and one of the league’s toughest running backs, Eddy Lacy.

In the end, it’ll come down to the offensive side of the ball for the Seahawks and having a fully healthy Percy Harvin should make them too tough to beat for Green Bay.

Final Score Prediction: 27-21 Seahawks

Reigning MVP Peyton Manning will look to avenge the Denver’s first loss of last year when the Broncos take on the Colts on Sunday night.

This could very well be a preview of the AFC Championship as many experts have picked both to represent the AFC in Super Bowl this year. The Broncos will be without Wes Welker after he received a four game suspension for violating the league’s substance abuse policy.

Nonetheless Manning still has one of the league’s most talented groups of offensive weapons. Indianapolis should be one of the toughest challenges of the season for the defending AFC Champs with Andrew Luck and a wide receiving core rivaling that of Mannings. This game will could come down to which running game can get things going, Montee Ball for the Broncos or Trent Richardson for the Colts.

I think Manning knows just how to utilize the second year back out of Wisconsin and that will give the Broncos the edge.

Final Score Prediction: 38-31 Denver

The Patriots begin their season by traveling down to Miami to take on Ryan Tannehill and the Dolphins. It looks like we’ll finally get to see Gronk back in action alongside a fully healthy Patriots receiving core that will give Tom Brady many more options than he had last year. If everyone plays I won’t be surprised one bit to see the Pats hang up 40 points or more.

That would be a shift for the norm as Tom Brady’s pass numbers against the Dolphins are some of his worst against any team. However with everyone healthy, spending week one in a division foe’s house, and potentially feeling the need to prove they’re still one of the elite teams I completely expect the Patriots to come out firing on all cylinders. On the Miami side of the ball their biggest off season move was the addition of Knowshown Moreno.

He joins Lamar Miller in the Dolphin backfield. They also signed defensive back Cortland Finnegan, a talented but tumultuous guy. The Fins will need a big day out of him and cohort Brent Grimes in order to have any hope of suppressing Brady and that New England offense.

Final Score Prediction: 35 - 20 New England
