The USM Huskies baseball team has returned from its Florida spring trip with a 9-3 record and that is enough for voters around the country to place USM in 5th place in the national Division-3 poll.

Ed Flaherty's team set a school record with 46 wins a year ago and the Huskies were the national D-3 runner-up. 18 players return from that team.

While USM spends the week at #5 in the poll, Linfield (Oregon) is #1. The Wildcats beat the Huskies in last year's national title game. That team is coached by former New York Yankee Scott Brosius.
