USM Huskies Win, NCAAs Next

The University of Southern Maine Huskies are Little East Conference champions - again. USM beat Eastern Connecticut State 4-2 in the winner-take-all game.

Huskies pitcher Andrew Richards and SS Sam Dexter were named co-MVPs of the LEC Tournament.

Richards pitched a complete game 4-hitter in the title game. He finished the tourney with 2 wins and 2 saves.

Dexter went 3-for-4 with a HR and 2 RBI.

USM (31-13) now waits for placement in the NCAA regionals. Coach Ed Flaherty and his Huskies are trying to get a third consecutive College World Series.
