Boston Red Sox v New York YankeesThe Red Sox blew a 5-run lead before getting to Mariano Rivera in the 9th inning to tie the game and win it in the 10th by a 9-8 score.Shane Victorino had a big night for the Sox that included the go-ahead rbi single in the 10th inning. He totaled two hits in the game including a homerun, 3 rbi and his 20th stolen base.

The Yankees were on the verge of a win after scoring 6 runs in the 7th inning to take their first lead of the game. However, in the 9th with Mariano Rivera on the mound Mike Napoli came up with a 2-out single to keep the game going. He was replaced by pinch runner Quinten Berry who stole second and advanced to third on a throwing error. Stephen Drew then singled him in to tie the game and force the extra frame.

For Rivera it was his 6th blown save of the season. Craig Breslow got the win in relief while Koji Uehara closed it out for save number 18.

The Sox now have a 6 1/2 game lead in the AL East after Tampa Bay lost to the Angels 6-2.
