Five area student-athletes have been nominated for First National Bank High School Athlete of the Week honors.

This week's nominees are Jaime Skinner of Nokomis, Alex Brown of Mattanawcook, Nick Brewer of Houlton, Damon Warren of Sumner and Alex Higgins of Lawrence.

Here's how each athlete performed

Jaime Skinner of the Nokomis field hockey team scored two goals and assisted on another score as the Warriors defeated John Bapst, 4-0, on Saturday in a Class B North preliminary round matchup. Nokomis will take on No.1 Gardiner this week in the regional quarterfinals. Skinner added a goal and an assist in the Warriors' regular season finale against Hermon on Oct. 9, which Nokomis won 4-1.

Mattanawcook's Alex Brown scored six touchdowns in the Lynx dominant 54-0 shutout against Ellsworth on Friday night. Brown rushed for three touchdowns, scored on an 80-yard punt return and returned two interceptions for touchdowns, including a 97-yard pick-six. The win improved Mattanawcook to 5-2.

Nick Brewer of Houlton shot a 3-over-par 75 on Saturday and finished tied for first place in Class C at the high school golf state championships at Natanis Golf Course in Vassalboro. Brewer shares the 2018 crown with Mitch Tarrio of Kents Hill school. Brewer shot an 82 at Natanis on Oct. 6, helping the Shiretowners claim their first team state championship since 2009.

Damon Warren of the Sumner boys soccer team scored 6 goals and added an assist in the Tigers' 10-0 shutout against Calais on Oct. 8. He scored three times and assisted on another goal in Sumner's 9-1 victory over Narraguagus on Oct. 10, which improved the Tigers to 12-1.

Alex Higgins of Lawrence ran for 141 yards and three touchdowns in the Bulldogs' 44-26 triumph over Skowhegan at Keyes Field on Friday night. The captain's 4-yard touchdown run gave Lawrence a 30-20 lead with 10:00 left in the third quarter. His 10-yard score put the Bulldogs ahead 37-26 with 2:24 left in the third.
